Allow Care Home Residents Home Visits without Need for 14-day Self-isolation

Today John’s Campaign have issued further legal proceedings to challenge the current policy of 14 days isolation when visiting a care home.

You can read about the testimonies of families describing the harm that is being done everyday by the damaging requirement for residents of care ‘homes’ to isolate for fourteen days, after they are admitted or return there from hospital or another address. The rest of the country may be opening up after lockdown but such freedoms are not there for care home residents. Many of our carer members have told us similar stories.

"We have heard many stories from our carer members of the cruelty of the enforced isolation of those they care about and desperately want to continue to visit and support. They could be those extra pairs of hands, alongside the hard-pressed paid care staff, able to provide the individual care for residents that is so essential for quality of life and personal well-being."
