We recognise that carers of people with dementia are experts by experience.
One of our core principles is that we value, respect and enable carers and former carers to use their voice of experience. Working together with carers, we provide a powerful network to bring people together under a common cause and build a social movement with the power to influence local, regional and UK wide policy, aid research and influence the way in which local services are designed, commissioned and provided.
Using lived experience, we enable a diverse range of carers of people living with dementia to have a powerful collective voice, which raises awareness of their unique needs and rights, ensuring that these influence practice, policy and research at all levels.
We have co-produced a bespoke development programme for carers of people living with dementia, providing them with the necessary practical skills they need, together with emotional and psychological support to enable them to share their experiences and their compelling stories.
We want to help you acquire the skills, knowledge and confidence to influence decisions about health care in your community. We want to help you to find your voice and give you the opportunity to affect real change.
