Our work in Scotland

In February 2017, the Life Changes Trust awarded almost £1.4 million pounds to the TIDE network to support carers of people with dementia in Scotland to have a greater say in the day to day issues that affect them and those they care for.  This funding for TIDE in Scotland runs in parallel to the Big Lottery UK funding for the TIDE network in the north of England.

Many carers of family or friends with dementia feel they receive insufficient support from health and social care services, leaving them feeling isolated, burnt-out and unable to look after their own well-being.

One of the fundamental aims of TIDE in Scotland is to highlight this lack of support, and to recognise the crucial role carers play in their unpaid capacity.
