How to Get Your Point Across – Ask, Negotiate, Advocate
We often hear from carers that they feel that they have to fight and battle for everything and in a system that is stretched and where resources are limited this will more than likely continue to be the case. As carers you will be involved in phone calls and meetings with a variety of different professionals where you will have to advocate on behalf of yourself or the person you care for in order to try and get the support, help and services you need.
We will take you through some strategies and give you some hints and tips from our toolbox to help you be prepared for these conversations, help you get your point across effectively and ensure that you have an equal seat at the table.
