Meaningful Care Home visits allowed in England
You did it!
Thanks to all the support you gave the
#OneDementiaVoice campaign we are pleased the government has announced meaningful visits for Care Homes in England. They listened to your stories, took notice of the letters you shared with MPs and have announced Care Home visits in England will be allowed
The government has said over a million tests are to be sent out to care home providers over the next month, with visits to begin in the first homes today! We would be interested to hear if anyone has had this opportunity already?
We are pleased the government has finally done something about this situation. For many, it is too little too late. The damage of separation over the last 9 months will have taken its toll. We know many of our carers have lost someone in a care home during the pandemic.
We will continue to fight for the rest of the UK. We will find out more and we will keep you informed when we do. At the moment this applies to England only and we will continue fighting for the rest of the UK.
