As many of you know, tide have been struggling immensely to survive. As funding has become scarcer, it has become increasingly challenging for small charities like us. We are seeing support for carers of people with dementia slip further and further down the agenda.  

But we have good news for 2024! We are thrilled to share with you that we have recently secured some funding which will allow us to continue. We are incredibly proud that through the continued dedication from our staff and members, tide will begin to thrive once more.   

A recent application was successful which will allow us to expand our Carer Development Programme! For those who are unfamiliar, tide’s Carer Development Programme is a unique course of online events that are designed to help unpaid carers by giving them the advice, support and information they need. This series has been co-produced with current and former carers with lived experience. You can find out more about the Carer Development Programme here.  

We will be expanding on topics that we cover regularly in the Carer Development Programme and delivering sessions on new topics such as:  

• Dementia, Delirium & Depression 
• Adapting Your Living Environment 
• Purposeful Activity 
• Communication & Dementia 
• Preparing You for Getting Involved in Research 
• Balancing Caring and Working
• Moving Forward: A Guide For Families Moving A Loved One Into A Care Home

In addition to this, we received some generous donations that mean tide will be able to continue until September 2024. We are truly humbled that we went from almost certain closure to lasting another 9 months. It goes to show how a little goes a long way for small charities like us. So, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you to those who never stopped believing in us and who have continued to support us.  

We are so close to securing funding that will last us until the end of the year. This is an incredible achievement but our fight for survival is still not entirely over. Please, if you can, consider donating to us today.  

1000 Carers Campaign

We are about to launch our new corporate sponsorship campaign for 2024 and we will be sending you more information about how you can support it within the next few days. We are asking businesses to donate £1000 to enable us to reach and support 1000 new carers in 2024. A modest amount from each business has the potential to really boost tide's finances. We are reliant on our networks in actively sharing the campaign once it is launched. Until then, you can continue to support tide in the following ways:

• If know anybody who cares for someone with dementia, please consider sharing tide and the tide network with them. 
• If you are part of an organisation related to dementia care or an organisation with employees that may have caring responsibilities, please consider raising awareness of tide and our Carer Development Programme.
